How much does it cost to enter the tournament?
- Entry fee into the Saltwater Slam is $325 per boat.
- Entry fee into the Saltwater Shootout is $325 per boat.
- Entry fee into the Saltwater Showdown is $325 per boat. However, you must qualify in order to be eligible to compete.
- Entry fee into the Billfish Challenge is $600 per boat.
Do I have to pay extra to add additional anglers?
- No. This is a boat tournament and we do not charge additional fees for additional anglers. Teams may carry as many anglers as they can safely accommodate on their boat.
Can the captain also be an angler?
- Yes. The captain does not need to fill out the angler portion of the entry form. Completion of the captain's section of the form will qualify him or her as an angler.
Where can I register for the tournament?
- By mail: Checks may be mailed with your registration form up to one week prior to event.
- By Fax: You may fax your entry form with payment information in advance to our office at (954) 725-4070.
- In Person: Date 5/1/08 (6-8pm) - Bonefish Mac’s Sports Grille 2002 East Sample Road Lighthouse Point, FL 33064. A tournament representative will be on site at the specified location to collect entry forms and payment on the specified dates.
- Kickoff Party: Your last chance to register is the night of the kickoff parties for each event. There is a late fee that all registrants must pay should you decide to register at the kickoff.

Can I pay with a check at the kickoff party?
- No. Acceptable payment methods at the kickoff party are cash, Mastercard, and Visa.
What inlet does the tournament run out of?
- Hillsboro Inlet in Pompano Beach.
Can I check out of another inlet the morning of the tournament?
- No. You may only check out of Hillsboro Inlet. Boats that do not check out will be disqualified.
What are the eligible species of fish?
- Dolphin, Wahoo, Kingfish, Blackfin Tuna and Cobia.
What is the minimum weight requirement for fish?
How many fish can we weigh?
- 4 per species. A maximum of 10 fish per boat.
What if there is a tie?
- In the event of a tie, the two teams will split the prize money equally between the two categories. Ties are not broken by time of catch.
Can we use treble hooks?
- Yes, treble hooks are permitted.
Is live chumming allowed in the tournament?
- No, however frozen chum and dead bait chum are allowed.
What are the boundaries in the tournament?
- Boats are limited to the waters off of the east coast of Florida no more than 35 miles offshore. Boat may fish as far north and south as they wish.
Is there a Bimini Start?
- Yes. The Bimini Start will take place at 7am on Saturday morning of each tournament. Boundaries will be noted in the rules section of each tournament magazine.
Is there an official announcement of lines out of the water?
- No. Boats that have fish to weigh in must be visually checked in inside Hillsboro Inlet by 4:30 pm. If you are late, you will be unable to weigh your catch.
