Operation Sailfish Returns to Sailfish Marina for the 10th year, January 12-16th, 2022.
The Quest For The Crest Sailfish Series is back in action January 12-16th, 2022 at Sailfish Marina in Palm Beach, Florida. Leg 1 of the Quest, Operation Sailfish celebrates 10 years! An estimated 50 Teams will compete in the two-day long tournament on Friday, January 14th & Saturday, January 15th with a $500,000 cash purse up for grabs and of course the champions’ dog tags!
Early registration is $1,200 per boat and runs through December 29th, 2021. The price will jump to $1700 for late registration after the 29th, so register early to save $500! In addition to the prestigious first place title, there are several opportunities through a variety of general and optional entry categories for anglers to snag some additional cash. New to the Quest for the Crest is a “Small Boat Division” and “Small Boat Stash” calcutta and will be open to boats 37 feet & under. The “Small Boat Division” will pay out an estimated $2,500 to the first place team and the “Small Boat Stash” will write an estimated check of $4,725 to the top team based on entries. The tournament’s signature “Take A Hero” Fishing Day is a once in a lifetime opportunity for current active duty military and veterans to sail the seas for a fun day of fishing prior to the start of the tournament on Thursday, January 13th. Bluewater Movements is proud to partner with Operation Homefront, a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to build strong, stable and secure military families that can thrive in the communities they’ve worked hard to protect to make this experience happen for current & former members of the military. Teams are paired up with a hero to enjoy a day of fishing, followed by a cocktail party and awards ceremony, where the top hero’s will receive their very own trophies! Also returning for 2022 is the Huk sponsored “Battle of the Brackets”. This March Madness style competition will span across the entire Quest For the Crest Series, crowning a winner during Final Sail in Miami. The top 32 teams voted in by their fans & followers will earn a spot to compete in the head to head competition. In order to be eligible for voting, teams must be registered to fish the entire 2022 Sailfish Series. Once the 32 team field is set through random draw, teams will be placed in their designated bracket spot. Teams will go head to head on each of the competition days during the Quest and whichever team has the highest amount of points at the end of each fishing day will move on to the next round.
If meatfish are your game, then Operation Sailfish is your target tournament too. The prize structure includes guaranteed payouts for the heaviest dolphin, wahoo, kingfish, tuna, and cobia plus the heaviest fish overall, 4-fish aggregate weight and three meatfish calcuttas including a meatfish daily!
