Gearing Up For The Mercury/SeaVee Pompano Beach Saltwater Showdown: Leg 3 of South Florida’s Most Popular Meatfish Series
Pompano Beach, FL – The South Florida angling community is alive with anticipation as they prepare for The Mercury/SeaVee Pompano Beach Saltwater Showdown, the main event of the series where teams battle it out for a generous cash prize and the coveted Showdown Crown, accompanied by custom championship rings. From August 8-11th, families and seasoned anglers alike will come together to enjoy the thrill of summer fishing in sunny South Florida and the chance to win big.
Signature prize categories for the Saltwater Showdown include Big Fish payouts in excess of $18,000, a Semi-Pro category paying out $5,000 across the top five places in the division, Mid-Range and Small Boat Divisions with over $4,000 in cash dispersed between the top three teams for each category, along with amazing prizes from Flushmaster By SeaMule awarded to the top Family and Gifts from Bass Pro Shops handed out to the competitors in the Junior and Pee-Wee Angler Divisions.

Saltwater Showdown Important Details and Information
General Entry Category Announcements
Introducing a fresh twist to our summer series: the Team Division presents two unique avenues for competition. Teams can choose between the Big Bag or Big Fish Divisions, each offering a distinct challenge. In the Big Bag Division, teams vie for victory based on aggregate weight, while the Big Fish Division adds $9,000 to the general prize structure and focuses on landing the heaviest individual catch.
Additionally, all other general entry divisions—including Mid-Range (open to boats 27-32 feet), Small Boat (open to boats 26 feet and under), Semi-Pro, Angler, Family, Kids, Species, and Show Me the Mahi Divisions—are open to all participating teams.
Optional Entry Category Announcements
Heading into the of three of the series, the Pick 3 Jackpot is anticipated to surpass $75,000. In The Pick 3 challenge, three out of the five eligible species will be randomly drawn before the start of fishing. These three species will become the targets for the Pick 3 category for the day. If there’s no winner, the prize pool will carry over to the next PBSC tournament, restarting the process. Secure your chance at victory with an entry fee of $200 per boat. Some things are bigger than fishing. We encourage all our teams to enter our Fish For Charity Calcutta benefiting our charitable partner Mission Fishin’. Both teams and charity win in this category with a 50/50 split between the high point team and the tournament charity. The entry fee for this Calcutta is $100 per boat.
Our Fish & Chips Calcutta is for the teams that love to win big! This winner-take-all category awards a stout payout to the team with the heaviest combined total weight. The entry fee for this Calcutta is $500 per boat.

About The Pompano Beach Saltwater Circuit
If you like fishing for Dolphin, Wahoo, Kingfish, Tuna and Cobia, then you will love the format of the Pompano Beach Saltwater Circuit. The PBSC is a 3-leg tournament that takes place annually in South Florida from May to August. Leg 1 of the series begins in May with the Saltwater Shootout, followed by the Saltwater Slam in June and the Saltwater Showdown in August.
